Senate Continues Committee Work

The Senate passed House Concurrent Resolution number 3, to approve a joint session of the House of Representatives and the Senate to hear Governor Tate Reeves’ State of the State address at 5 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020.

Senate committees continued to meet for organizational purposes and the Public Health committee began educational meetings for its members. This week's meeting included a member of the state health department's board, William Carey University's dean of Osteopathic medicine, a podiatrist, and a dentist.

Throughout the week several schools, groups and organizations from the pine belt visited the capitol. Pictured above are students from Oak Grove Upper Elementary.
