October Update

Champions visit Governor’s Mansion

I was delighted to join the Pearl River Community College national baseball champs during their visit to the Mississippi Governor’s Mansion in Jackson. This team clenched the national title against Madison College (Wisconsin) in June this year during the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II World Series championship series. Way to go, Wildcats!

Fundraisers a great success

This month, I was pleased to host two separate fundraisers in Hattiesburg and Jackson in preparation for the 2023 legislative election season. In Hattiesburg, I was humbled to have approximately 50 local individuals and couples host the event, which drew dozens of attendees. It has been a great honor to serve my constituents since I was first elected to the Legislature in 2015, and I hope you will continue to put your trust in me to serve your interests at the Mississippi State Capitol.

Speaking to juniors

The Pearl River Valley Electric Power Association (PRVEPA) recently held its “cooperative university” for juniors. I joined Senator Joey Fillingane and Representative Kent McCarty in speaking to this amazing group of young people. I know they will go far!

Congressional races next month

Next month, Mississippians will vote to determine who they want representing their voices in Congress. The Pine Belt is located in the fourth congressional district (CD4), and here is a link to the ballot. On October 29, circuit clerks’ offices must remain open from 8:00 a.m. until noon for absentee voting. Be sure to mark your calendars now to vote by November 8 to make sure your voice is counted.
